Inside Neon were formed in Tokyo in mid 2009. The band was founded by Rich Loffman, from Stourbridge in England.

In 2010 the band released their debut album 'The Introduction Of Munk' through their own label Nitrogen Music.

Message from the band.
"We love all forms of rock and we want to create music with energy and passion, and to draw from as many influences as possible whilst retaining a classic alternative rock sound. Rich’s song-writing is heavily influenced by grunge and punk aesthetics, as well as classic rock, metal, Brit-rock and new wave. To that end we have dubbed our sound as both ‘Dark Rock’ (reflecting the Rich's latent Goth influences) and ‘Munk’ (a fusion of the works punk and metal). After hearing the early recordings of the song Losing Gravity, Rich joked to the other band members, Nat and Dave, that “we sound like a punk band playing metal, we should call it Munk”."
